On a clear September afternoon at Boardman, both Tiger squads showed depth and resilience. The boys packed seven inside the top 40 to claim a podium spot, while the girls placed five inside the top 45 to secure a top-five finish.
Boys’ Varsity – 3rd Place (71 points)
The NA boys delivered a gritty 3rd place team finish in a deep regional field, trailing only Perrysburg (OH) and West Springfield (VA). Senior Andrew Peigh earned 2nd overall in 16:16.7 with his best race of season. Freshman Gatik Hirwani was close behind in 4th (16:30.9). Senior Jack Curren crossed in 14th (17:04.6), junior Wyatt Case placed 21st (17:18.7), and sophomore sensation Denny Smith grabbed 37th (17:47.4) to close out the scoring. Sophomore Sam Patterson finished 38th (17:51.0), while freshman Colin Clarkson followed in 39th (17:52.0).

Girls’ Varsity – 5th Place (149 points)
The Lady Tigers battled a loaded multi-state field at Boardman, securing a strong 5th place team finish against regional powers from Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. Freshman Samantha Strelick led the way with a poised 5th overall finish in 18:58.3. Junior Gabriela Pizon placed 25th overall (20:55.1), senior Teresa Pagnotto finished 37th (21:21.5), sophomore Lydia Stuart was 39th (21:30.6), and sophomore breakout performer Leila Nocera came through in 43rd (21:33.8) to close the scoring five. Junior Juliet Forrest added a 45th-place effort (21:47.0), while senior Elinor Handel completed the top seven in 47th (21:49.3).
Top 7 Girls (NA):
The Tigers return home on Tuesday for their only home meet of the season, taking on section rivals Pine-Richland Rams and Central/Oakland Catholic Vikings/Eagles.
