North Allegheny cross country teams hosted Seneca Valley and North Hills for a section showdown. After a short weather delay, the tigers were able to show themselves as the best team on the day. Both NA teams went 2-0 to keep their undefeated season going strong.
The girls defeated the Raiders 26-37 and the Indians 17-46. The girls were led by an outstanding performance by senior Camille Swirsding who won the race outright with great time of 20:07. Sophomore Gabby Pizon had a huge race, placing 3rd overall. Next up for the lady tigers was freshman phenom Lydia Stuart with a strong 5th place finish. Junior Tess Pagnotto had a solid race, placing 4th for the tigers and 8th overall. Freshman Mary Lucas sealed the victory for NA with a 10th place. Senior Nicole Reubi and sophomore Abby Gordish were close behind, taking the next two spots and rounding out NA’s top 7.
In the boys race, junior Andrew Peigh won the race with an excellent time of 16:27. Senior Tyler Davis had a valiant effort to grab 3rd overall. Senior Anthony Miklos was only a few seconds back with an excellent race to place 4th. Senior Jackson Beemer was 6th overall with a great race. Senior Sebastian Klimchak grabbed the 5th NA spot to secure the win for the tigers (12th overall). Seniors Clayton Blough and Sergio Abdallah rounded out the scoring seven with strong races.
Both teams improve 6-0. The tigers will face Butler and Shaler on October 1st to finish on the regular dual meet season
